Environment Management Systems (EMS)
PTI has experienced engineers and acquisition professionals
PTI’s experienced engineers and acquisition professionals assist in the planning and implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) for installations and Department of Defense weapon systems.
We understand the requirements for Reduction of Ozone Depleting Substances and Toxic Substances and are effectively conducting projects to meet the necessary goals. PTI’s personnel are qualified EMS auditors in accordance with the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) 14001. We have trained ISO 14001 auditors to assist our customers in turning the Executive Order (EO) requirement into reality.
PTI developed the EMS program for the Army Research Laboratory (ARL), including performance of a gap analysis and associated documentation. PTI developed all EMS procedures, training materials, and an EMS Tracking System. Our efforts have resulted in the significant reduction of hazardous material usage, improvements in inventory controls, and introduction of new technologies for painting, ventilation, and cleaning applications.
We are applying the tenants of ISO 14001 to the Army Future Combat System (FCS), the first Army system to actively pursue EMS as part of their risk management process. FCS is working to incorporate EMS into their acquisition strategy. PTI also has personnel experienced in preparing and implementing an EMS for the Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT).
