Mobile, Ultra-Pure Water Treatment Plant
The Army requested that PTI design, fabricate and implement a mobile, ultra-pure water treatment plant at Corpus Christi Army Depot. PTI developed a design specification for a Mobile, Ultra-Pure Reverse Osmosis System. PTI Engineers specified pretreatment and system requirements according to the supply water, system electrical configuration, permeate storage and permeate distribution throughout the depot.
PTI delivered to Corpus Christi Army Depot a mobile skid mounted ultra-pure brackish water reverse osmosis system. Our engineers installed the system, performed start-up and prove-out analyses and trained a local contractor in the operation and maintenance of the system. The process exceeded the depot requirement of 10,000 gpd of ≤1 ppm (~2µS /cm; 500 kOhm*cm) permeate water with the specified TDS feed water of 800 mg /L.
Turbine Engine Bearing Housing Internal Cleaning System
Turbine engine cleaning offers special challenges – especially when applications require the removal of ‘coking’ from internal oil transfer lines less than 0.030” in diameter. After many attempts from others, PTI accepted the challenge from the Army to devise, design and develop a custom flushing fixture that would enable mechanical process oriented cleaning of specified turbine engine parts.
PTI evaluated current depot cleaning methods of the specified turbine engine parts and desired production goals. Our engineers conducted preliminary tests to determine process and chemistry requirements to acquire the desired level of internal cleanliness within the oil transfer lines. We then designed part flushing fixtures and a respective bench-scale system for proof-of-principle testing. This served to support the fabrication of a full-scale turbine engine internal oil passage cleaning system.
